Offboarding

A&S Human Resources will partner with managers to ensure the exit process is handled smoothly and completely. The sections below outline each step, from the moment a resignation comes in, through the termination submission in PAC, to the return of university property.

Exit Process

1. Employees must submit a written notice of resignation. Officers of Administration must provide a 4-week
notice. Union and non-union support staff must provide a 2-week notice.
2. Resignation notice must be forwarded to A&S HR.
3. The employee and manager should begin the transition of responsibilities and wrap up projects and deliverables immediately.
4. A&S HR will reach out to the employee to schedule a voluntary exit interview.

1. Managers and departing employee should ensure that all used time off has been entered in TLAM.
2. A&S HR will confirm with TLAM the final accrued, unused PTO balance to be paid out.
3. A&S HR will process the termination in PAC.

Return of University Property

A&S HR will not consider the exit process for an employee complete until the return of all university property. Method of return depends on the type of resignation, availability of the employee, type of equipment, and other factors. Employees must return all university property on their last day of employment. Managers should work directly with employees to collect all university equipment, keys, laptops, etc.

Employees transferring to other schools or departments within the university can keep their CUID. Employees leaving the university must surrender their CUID and other passes that may be in their possession. CU alums and retirees can obtain a new CUID through the Alumni Office.
