Join us to experiment, break things, and imagine new possibilities. Data Club meetings are meetings, not workshops. An introduction to a bit of software is followed by opportunities to try the software in your own environment and on your own terms.

This workshop will introduce the OGC GeoPackage format an open, single-file standard for storing and sharing geospatial data and projects. This session will cover what the GeoPackage is, how it compares to other formats, and how to create, edit, and exchange your own GeoPackages using tools like QGIS.

Topics covered: Geospatial data, GeoPackage

Data Club meetings occur six times a semester. Open to everyone in the Columbia community, these informal events typically start with a presentation on a specific use of data in Python, R, Julia, or JavaScript, then open up to questions, collaborative work, and discussion. Computation typically occurs within an online notebook workflow, and participants of all skill levels are welcome.

Please bring a laptop!
